Welcome to The Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling
Background
The Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC) is made up of 700 professionally trained and experienced members who offer counselling and psychotherapy on an individual and group basis. This site is designed to help you find a therapist and learn more about what is involved in the process.
The FPC was formed during the 1970s as the graduate body of WPF Therapy. All practising members are qualified to provide an appropriate and professional service.
Central to the work of therapy is reflective practice and members are required to undertake continuing professional development, in order to maintain and extend their level of competence.
Our training
All of The FPC's members are trained and qualified through WPF Therapy in psychoanalytic theory and practice and have extensive clinical experience. All therapists are required to undergo personal therapy and ongoing supervision.
FPC psychotherapists, counsellors and group analytic psychotherapists are qualified to practise in-depth work. This provides the opportunity for clients to work through personal difficulties within a professional framework.
The Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling is an institutional member of the BACP, BPC and UKCP
